In his profound book, The Blood Triumph, Dr. David Oyedepo explores the powerful and transformative components of the Blood of Jesus Christ in the 2nd Chapter of this small but impactful book. I love reading this book because it’s a book you can finish in an hour’s plus yet you will be immersed into the wisdom and the Power that the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ offers. This article delves into the four key aspects highlighted by Oyedepo, offering insights into how the Blood of Jesus functions as a weapon for victory and dominion in the life of a believer.

  1. The Blood Purges

The first component of the Blood of Jesus I will mention here is its role as a cleansing agent. This is the third component in the book. According to Bishop Oyedepo, the Blood has the power to cleanse believers from all sin and unrighteousness. It serves as a divine detergent that purifies the conscience of a man, making one acceptable before God. According to the book, no one can get to his conscience to correct It, the blood of Jesus is the only way to correct every vices of the conscience. As all the thought of man are generated within, and man defilement is a product of His thoughts, it’s only the blood of Jesus that can reach the place the thoughts are being manufactured and devastate the place. From within the heart of man comes malice, evil thoughts… The scripture in 1 John 1:7 emphasizes that “the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.” This cleansing is crucial for maintaining a holy relationship with God, ensuring that believers walk in righteousness and truth.

  1. The Pass Over Blood

Oyedepo opens the 2nd chapter of the book with the Pass Over blood as the first component and emphasizes the Blood’s protective nature, likening it to a spiritual shield that wards off evil. The Blood of Jesus provides believers with a divine covering that protects them from the attacks of the enemy. This component is grounded in the story of the Passover in Exodus 12, where the blood of the lamb on the doorposts protected the Israelites from the angel of death. Satan can not show up on mouth carmel because its a mountain of blood. And its a law that where there is a pass over blood, no evil can penetrate. Similarly, the Blood of Jesus serves as a mark of divine exemption from harm and destruction for modern-day believers.

  1. The Blood Stronghold

The Blood of Jesus is also depicted as a potent weapon in spiritual warfare. Bishop Oyedepo asserts that through the Blood, believers can overcome the forces of darkness. Revelation 12:11 underscores this truth: “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” The prodigal son was lure out of his stronghold and was stripped naked by the enemy. The Blood of Jesus empowers believers to claim victory over sin, sickness, poverty, and every form of demonic oppression. It is a weapon that guarantees triumph in the spiritual battles faced in life.

  1. The Blood gives Freedom from Leprosy

Anything that represent a but in a man’s life is termed as leprosy. Sin is the greatest leprosy of mankind because it’s what banished man from getting access to God.

We must expose every leprosy areas of our lives to Jesus so that He can set us free. He is the only accredited high priest that can free us from Leprosy.

The Blood of Jesus is described as a seal of the new covenant between God and humanity. This component underscores the binding agreement established through Jesus’ sacrifice. According to Oyedepo, the Blood signifies a covenant of grace, mercy, and eternal life. It is through this covenant that believers gain access to the promises of God, including salvation, healing, and divine favor. The Blood ensures that the blessings of the covenant are irrevocably secured for those who believe.

Bishop David Oyedepo’s The Blood Triumph provides a deep exploration of the multifaceted power of the Blood of Jesus Christ. Its components as a cleansing agent, protective shield, weapon of warfare, and freedom from leprosy illustrate the comprehensive nature of the victory it offers. For believers, understanding and applying these aspects of the Blood can lead to a life of dominion, freedom, and triumph in Christ.

Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), has urged critics to refrain from questioning the church’s decisions regarding the retirement of its pastors.

The cleric faced criticism on social media after reports emerged last week that his two vice presidents, Bishops Thomas Aremu and David Abioye, would be retiring after serving three and four decades in the ministry.

It was gathered that their retirement is in line with the operational guidelines of the church, also known as The Mandate, which serves as the church’s constitution.

Reacting while delivering his sermon at the valedictory service for Bishop Aremu at Winners Chapel, Orita Bashorun, on Tuesday, Oyedepo stressed the importance of focusing on one’s own affairs.

He revealed that the church’s Administrative Policy of 1998 was reviewed in 2001, while The Mandate of 2012 was revised in 2024, stressing that the ministry operates by divine order.

The revised Mandate has changed the retirement age from 60 to 55.

While the Founder, Oyedepo, retains the right to serve for life, future church leaders will be restricted to one or two terms of seven years, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.

The Bishop, however, warned those wishing for the ministry’s downfall that they were wasting their “lives.”

He said, “My advice to commentators is to study to be quiet and mind your business. It is wisdom to learn what is working and find out what makes it work. Everything works here.”

He urged Bishop Aremu to keep God at the centre of his life, adding that taking a spiritual break is risky.

Quoting the Bible in Genesis 49:26, Bishop Oyedepo stated that no one has an inheritance in a teacher or pastor.

He encouraged him to maintain a mindset focused on growth, saying, “There’s no such thing as the best today or tomorrow; what matters is your pursuit of God.”

Oyedepo urged Aremu to remain connected for the continued flow of grace, advising him not to be distracted by baseless criticism.

Earlier in his address, Aremu stated that he had no intention of leaving Winners Chapel to establish his own church after retirement.

“I don’t have a church, and I cannot have a church because God has not infused me with the capacity to do so. This is my church,” he said.

Aremu, a former accountant, transitioned into full-time ministry following a successful career in his field.

He is distinguished as the last surviving bishop among the seven consecrated at the Garden of Faith in Kaduna in November 1999.

Meanwhile, Bishop Abioye’s farewell ceremony is set for Friday, 18th October 2024, at Durumi, Abuja.

The bible is not a story book, its a manual. A disregard for the book is a disregard for destiny.

As powerful as the Bible is, it answers to the obedience of Faith. The word is helpless without our obedience of faith John 6:6 — Faith is only validated by obedience and nothing dead can add value to life.

It’s not revelation that work but applied revelation. What we know from the Bible does not change us, its what you do with what you know. Light is Sweet as you walk in it. Your torch light do you no good in your bag — James 1:22/25 — some great happening in our lives may not need prayers, we will just obey ourselves into them Isaiah 65:24

You don’t need to know anybody to scale the utmost height in life, just know God Daniel 11:32

You can’t walk in the truth of the scripture and not triumphs Psalms 34:8 (I have entered into my blessed era of life) Exodus 14:15 — The sea saw God whose word they obeyed. Obedience of Faith will always commit God’s integrity to do the impossible Exodus 16:35

Obey God, forget about the devil. He will set you above all the nations of the earth. Obey God and ignore the devil Isaiah 14:24 – obedience of Faith will get the devil out of the equation of our lives. There is no devil where obedience of Faith thrives. No power of darkness can stand the authority of light John 1:5

Matthew 8:16 — His word is the light of life. All the demons will leave at the shot of the arrow of the scripture Jude 1:6 — The authority of the believer comes from the dictate of the scriptures

When i am on the go, He goes with me Luke 10:19

The people at the wedding had their shame rolled away by simply obeying Jesus John 2:3 — every true word dummy enjoy dominion without stress John 9:7 — until you do what He says, you can’t commit Him to act.

We turn the power of God loosed by obedience Matthew 10:1

Every genuine lover of God walks naturally in obedience John 14:21 1 John 5:3-4 – we become overcomer by keeping His commandment in validation of our love for Him.

Examples of lovers of God

  1. Abraham has no issie obeying God because obedience is stress free when love is in place Isaiah 41:8 James 2:23
  2. David Psalms 119:97-100. If you are in love, obedience becomes easy
  3. Daniel — He is an unashamed lover of God Daniel 6:20/1:8/4. You become indestructible as a lover of God Daniel 3:16 1 John 4:16
  4. Paul the Apostle Romans 8:37 Song of Solomon 8:7-8 Philippians 2:8 — love facilitate obedience to the extreme thereby resulting in lifting beyond imagination John 10:17-18 — any believer can win the heart of God.

Commitment to soul winning and turning many to righteousness is the capital proof of our love for God John 21:15-17 Genesis 18:23-26

Panting after the souls of men is the proof of our love for God Psalms 119:46 1 Corinthians 9:16-17/2:9

Every true lover end up a trailblazer, pathfinder and a pacesetter. No devil can stop them Acts 14:19-20

Our lack of obedience is the proof of our lack of love or low level of love for God Acts 19:15. As a lover of God, you are wearing God – He dwells in you and you in Him. Nothing can touch your lover without your response. Whatever your lover demands, its your duty to respond.

John 6:57 — everything that Jesus carried is in the communion table. The grace for obedience is also there John 8:29
